RESERVATIONS
In order to reserve an RV for your trip, simply fill out the rental application form and return it to us. You may select the “Reserve Now” button from the main menu, or phone us at 805-240-1204 to request an application by fax/e-mail/or FedEx. A prepayment of $500 is required to reserve an RV. (See Payments / Deposits section for additional info) This amount will be applied to your rental costs. RV’s are rented on a first come first served basis. Once we receive your application approval, and prepayment, your reservation will be confirmed. If, for any reason beyond the company’s control, the reserved vehicle is not available, Playtime reserves the right to substitute a vehicle of equivalent value or offer a higher rated vehicle at no additional cost. Should a lower rated vehicle be substituted, Playtime’s only responsibility is to refund the difference between the two vehicles. Although this is very infrequent, accidents or mechanical repairs may force substitutions. All information obtained in making your reservation is subject to verification.
RENTAL PERIOD - PICKUP/DROP OFF
Each overnight period counts as one night. Pick-up or departure time is between 1:00 and 4:00 PM and the vehicle must be returned between 9:00 and 12:00 PM on the return date. Unless previous arrangements have been made, you will be charged $50 for every hour the vehicle is returned late, up to a maximum of 150% of the daily rental rate. Late charges begin at 12:01 PM on the return date. Other people may be waiting for the vehicle. Please contact our office if you are delayed. All pick-ups and returns will be to 1400 Statham Parkway, Oxnard, CA unless other arrangements have been made. Pickup and Delivery service is provided at $75 dollars each way, within a 30 miles radius from the Playtime facility.
PAYMENTS AND DEPOSITS
Proper identification and a valid driver's license with photo must be presented when reserving a vehicle. The person named on the reservation application must be at least 25 years of age and is the only person authorized to sign the rental agreement and drive the vehicle off our property. All additional drivers must be at least 25 years of age, present at the time of departure with a valid driver's license with a photo and a have a valid credit card in the drivers name. Additional drivers must also be named on the insurance policy or binder. The fee to add an additional driver is $20/per driver.
From the date of your reservation to 30 days prior to
your pick-up date we will refund your reservation deposit less a $100 fee. If
you cancel within 30 days of the scheduled pick-up date, do not show up, or are
unable to complete the transaction at the pick-up or delivery, NO REFUND will be given.

into Mexico.
- No travel
into Canada unless arrangements have been made at the time of booking.
- No travel
in all desert areas between the months of May and September.
- No travel
over sand, dirt, mud or any unimproved road.
- No travel
over non-public roads.
Renter is liable for all damages and loss to vehicle, tires, towing charges and other expenses as a result of a breakdown associated with operating in these areas. Additional cleaning charges may also apply and will be determined during vehicle check-in inspection.
INSURANCE
Playtime carries no insurance for renters on the RV. Renters may either provide an insurance Binder for the RV through their own auto insurance policy with Playtime ass a "Loss Payee" and "Additional Insured". If you decide to go this route, please call Playtime at 805-240-1204 so we can send you the required paperwork to pass on to your agent. Or you may purchase rental insurance through MBA Choice. MBA Choice, viewed at www.mbachoice.com is $20/day for basic coverage (average rate). (See Insurance Requirements). Additional liability coverage is also available, and highly recommended, from MBA Choice for $9.95/day.
FUEL
Gas tank is full when you depart and must be returned full. If you return with tanks less than full you will be charged $3.99/gal, which will be deducted from your security deposit.
PROPANE
A full tank of Propane is included in the price of motorhome rental. Tanks should be returned full. If you return with tanks less than full we will service the tanks and deduct the amount of the propane from the security deposit.
MECHANICAL FAILURE
Our fleet of vehicles is in top mechanical
condition. In the unlikely event that a mechanical failure occurs, guests are
authorized to proceed with the necessary repairs up to $100. For expenses over
$100, guests must telephone Playtime for authorization before
proceeding with repairs. Replacement parts must be returned to the rental
station for reimbursement. Renter assumes full responsibility for damage to
tires and undercarriage. Oil, tire pressure and coolant must be checked at each
refueling. Costs for oil will be refunded upon presentation of receipts. The
company's responsibility is limited to the refund of the daily gross rate, or
portion thereof, if the breakdown repair is longer than 48 hours. Renter is responsible for ensuring that the motor home is
not loaded beyond its gross vehicle weight rating (which can lead to tire
failure or other problems). In the event of a mechanical failure, the renter is
required to first contact Playtime at 805-240-1204 for further instructions and
technical assistance. Playtime, at its sole discretion, agrees to repair, to
have repaired, or make every reasonable effort to replace the motor home.
You acknowledge the possibility of mechanical failure and/or breakdown and further acknowledge that said mechanical failure and/or breakdown is an inherent risk associated with the operation of said motor home or travel trailer, that it is beyond the control of Playtime and does not result in an act of negligence and/or omission on the part of Playtime. You agree that in all cases of mechanical malfunction of the motor home, you will immediately notify Playtime by telephone and will follow instructions regarding any and all repair work. Playtime is not liable for your expenses due to unforeseen breakdowns beyond our control. You may be held responsible for mechanical damage due to negligence in RV operation or failure to provide normal maintenance. In the event the RV is in breakdown repair for 12 hours or more through no fault of yours, our responsibility to you is limited to a refund of daily rate or portion thereof. It is also agreed that radio, automatic step, air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave, TV, DVD, VCR, appliances, cruise control and generator malfunctions are not considered breakdowns and refunds are limited to $5 per item per day at our sole discretion for the repair time or the inability to use these items.
ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE
All of our Motorhome, Travel Trailer and Toy Hauler rentals include 24-hour emergency roadside assistance throughout the United States.
ACCIDENTS
If involved in an accident you must notify Playtime within 24 hours. A full written police accident report must be submitted to our management upon your return. Failure to comply will result in the forfeiture of your security deposit.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSSES AND DAMAGES
You are responsible for all damage to vehicle. Loss of use of the vehicle while it is being repaired. Diminution of the vehicle’s value caused by damage to it or repairs performed (Not covered by insurance). All damage or loss caused by blowout, punctures or other road damage, unless the damage is caused by a "loss" that is collision on comprehensive. You are responsible for any missing equipment. Our administrative fees connected with any damage claims, regardless of fault, ranges from $50 to $150 and is in compliance with California Civil Code. This applies to loss due to theft and vandalism. You must report all accidents and/or damage within 6 hours of the occurrence. You agree to pay these charges from credit sources listed in your contract, and assume all responsibility to submit accident reports and claims to the proper authorities.
RENTERS PROPERTY
We shall at no time be responsible for the loss, destruction or damage of any personal property of yours or any of your passengers carried on the vehicle and you agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim with respect to such property.
CLEANING
A minimum cleaning fee of $140 is in effect for each coach. Renters are not required to bring the RV back in a clean condition. Coaches requiring special cleaning, such as cigarette odor, fumigation, undercarriage pressure washing, etc. may be subject to charges up to $350. This fee is at the sole discretion of Playtime and will be deducted from renters security deposit. The cleaning charge is for interior and exterior cleaning only. It does not cover any repairs needed.
DUMPING
We will dump and flush the waste tanks when the vehicle is returned. There is no charge for this service.
GENERATOR USE
Most vehicles are equipped with onboard 120-volt AC generators. Rental Rates include 2 hours of generator use per day. Additional use is $4.00/hr, or you may elect to purchase unlimited hours for $10 a night. Note: Generators will not operate when the fuel level is near or below ¼ tank. Portable generators are also available for vehicles without an onboard generator for $33 per night.
AWNING USE
Awnings are the most commonly damaged piece of equipment on a rental motorhome. Even experienced RV owners have problems occasionally. For that reason awnings are disabled and are not authorized for use. Exceptions are granted based of the renters’ previous experience and renters ability to demonstrate the proper use of the awning.
TOWING
Towing is allowed with selected units for an additional charge of $79 per rental. The weight of the item being towed must be within the legal limits of the vehicle and must contain all required equipment for towing, including break system, electrical wiring and emergency break away system. Playtime reserves the right to restrict towing privileges.
TRAVEL TRAILERS AND TOY HAULERS
You are responsible for having the proper vehicle and equipment to tow the rented vehicle. This will consist of a tow vehicle with sufficient tow rating for the rented vehicle, class III hitch, 7-way electrical plug, and an electric brake controller. PETS
We allow pets on certain RV models only. Ask which models are “pet friendly” when making your reservation. The following rules apply to “pet friendly” vehicles.- Renter must provide an additional $100 security deposit.
- Pet may not weigh over 25 lb.
- The vehicle must be returned in the same condition as you received it, free of pet hair and pet odor. If cleaning is required to remote pet hair and pet odor, you will be charged accordingly.
SMOKING
Smoking is strictly prohibited in all vehicles. If the vehicle is returned with a smoke odor a cleaning fee will be charged. Costs for cleaning and deodorizing will vary but could be as high as $350.
ROOF ACCESS
Roof access is strictly prohibited.
ILLEGAL AND IMPROPER USE
You agree that the vehicle will not be used in violation of any law and further agree to hold Playtime harmless from all fines and penalties levied for violation of any traffic laws. In the event the vehicle is seized or impounded, you shall continue to be responsible for rental charges until the vehicle is returned, pursuant to the terms of this agreement. You agree to indemnity and hold Playtime harmless from any and all losses and expenses resulting from seizure or impounding. You also agree that the following are breaches of the rental agreement and you are then responsible for any loss due to your breach:
- Intentional, willful, wanton or reckless conduct.
- Operation of the vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
- Operation of the vehicle on an unpaved road if the damage or loss is a direct result of the road or driving conditions.
- Used for commercial hire.
- Used in connection with conduct that could properly be charged as a felony.
- Involved in a speed test or contest.
- Operated by a person other than an authorized driver.
- Operated outside the lower 48 states.
- If you provide false information to us and we would not have rented the vehicle to you if instead we had received true information.
Any additional terms will be disclosed when the rental
agreement is signed. We reserve the right to refuse any applicant.
